Privacy Policy
SEYFR is a decentralized, secure peer-to-peer file sharing application built on top of the Iroh protocol. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices when you install and use the SEYFR mobile and desktop applications.
1. Data Collection & Storage
SEYFR connects your devices directly to one another:
- Zero Cloud Storage: We do not host, store, intercept, or see any files, photos, videos, or documents you send. Everything travels directly between the sender and the receiver over highly secure, private connections.
- Local Storage: Any files you receive are stored strictly on your own device—either in the app itself or in the folders you choose.
- No Account Required: SEYFR does not require you to sign up. We don't ask for your name, email, phone number, or password.
2. Network & Connections
To link your devices, SEYFR uses secure QR codes that contain local connection paths:
- Helper Servers: If your devices cannot connect directly because of strict router settings, SEYFR will route your encrypted files through public helper servers to establish the path. These helpers are completely blind—they cannot see, decrypt, or read your files under any circumstances.
3. Device Permissions
- Camera Access: We only ask for camera access so you can scan QR codes to connect your devices. SEYFR never uploads or shares your camera feeds.
- Storage Access: We only ask to access your files so we can send the ones you choose and save the ones you receive.
4. Third-Party Services
SEYFR includes optional public donation/monetization instructions for supporting development (via Mercury Bank and Venmo). We do not collect banking details, credit card numbers, or transactional analytics from your donations.
